Many of our medical students are talented artists. Unfortunately, during their time at Loma Linda University, there are limited opportunities for their talents to be fully appreciated. By supporting a student-led auction, alumni are given the unique opportunity to partner with current students in support of class mission projects. Additionally, alumni may financially support medical students while fostering the development of well-rounded physicians.

How it Works

Online bidding is open through February 28, 2019. The highest bid on February 28 at noon will be considered the starting bid for the APC weekend silent auction. Artwork will be on display starting March 1 within Coleman Pavilion (4th-floor lobby). Silent bids will be accepted throughout APC weekend, with final bids at 2:00 pm on March 4th.

50% of the proceeds benefit class mission projects, 40% benefit the artist, and 10% benefit the Alumni Association. Please note that only the portion donated to the class mission project and alumni association is considered tax deductible.

Description of Class Mission Projects

Each class within the School of Medicine adopts a mission project, often partnering with one of Adventist Health International’s affiliated Seventh-Day Adventist hospitals. The class is charged with raising funds during their 4 years of medical school.

Class of 2019

Class of 2019 is supporting the Waterloo Hospital in Sierra Leone. Funds go towards renovating its solar-powered well for consistent access to water, electricity for the lab and pharmacy to store perishable items including donated blood, and a chapel to provide the community with a place of worship.

Class of 2020

Mount of Olives Children’s Village (MOOCH) in Ejido Uruapan, Baja, Mexico provides support for children from impoverished families, children at risk, and orphans. As Class of 2020, our hope is to restart the medical clinical at MOOCH.

Class of 2021

The class of 2021 hopes to support Bongo Mission Hospital in Bongo, Angola by raising funds for medical equipment and facility restoration

Class of 2022
